'Her Art-Story' Talks - Nov / Dec 2018

The Fine Arts are notorious for their lack of representation for women. With female artists less likely to have work sold through a gallery or achieve the highest sums at auction. Her Art-Story celebrates the achievements of successful women working in the arts through a series of intimate conversations between female artists and curators intended to provide inspiration to negotiate your own path in the art world or at least have a greater understanding of female practitioners breaking new ground. All the artists at the forefront of their field share how they developed their practice and professional career and offer straightforward advice.

Confluence - October 2018

Confluence was a group exhibition of outstanding new paintings and sculpture by Sheffield-based contemporary artists – Richard Bartle, Anthony Bennett, Al Daw, Paul Evans, Seiko Kinoshita, Mandy Payne, Sarah Villeneau, Joanna Whittle, Myfanwy Williams and Sean Williams – which took place in Mayfair, London in October 2018. The exhibition acts as as a overview of the outstanding art being produced in Sheffield today. Confluence artists were supported through a tailored professional development programme, delivered by Matt Roberts Arts, in the lead up to the exhibition, and were selected as ‘mentees’ of the Making Ways Open Forum Programme, which supported over 50 artists through 121s and CPD support.
